Youth opportunities

As part of a small pilot under the Australian Government's Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program, we are currently seeking five enthusiastic people aged 18–26 to volunteer in Fiji for five months, commencing in January 2017.

Each volunteer will be partnered with a "peer volunteer" – a young Fijian local of a similar age. You will work together to exchange knowledge and ideas focused on strengthening mental health support in Fiji. There are four incredible mental health organisations that you'll share your time across during the five months.

We’re looking for a youth leadership trainer and mentors in fundraising, communications and marketing, advocacy campaigns and community outreach.

We're looking for people with a mix of experience and personal competencies. We don't expect you to have lots of career experience. However we do want to see your commitment, proactivity and adaptability to deliver the assignment objectives, matched with your enthusiasm to grow and learn.

Oaktree is an Australian Partner Organisation to the AVID youth pilot, sharing youth-led development practice and providing access to networks, training and mentoring support for volunteers.
